The Métis Nation-Saskatchewan has donated more than $34,000 in equipment and other materials to a woman who is making protective masks to fight COVID-19.

Angela Bishop is a Métis lawyer from Green Lake who is part of a group who has been making the protective cloth masks since the pandemic began.

To date, they have made about 5,000 protective masks that have been distributed across Saskatchewan.

On Friday, the MN-S donated 15 industrial-style sewing machines, fabric and other equipment to Bishop and her group.

The donation was made as part of a special ceremony in Saskatoon.
