The Saskatchewan Health Authority has declared the COVID-19 outbreak at the La Loche longterm care facility as over.

In a press release, SHA medical health officer Dr. Rim Zayed says a 28-day period has passed without a new positive case of coronavirus at the facility.

The press release also says existing community precautions remain in place and extensive door-to-door and mobile testing and contact tracing for COVID-19 will continue.

The province announced one new case of novel coronavirus on Saturday in the Saskatoon-area.

There are 591 cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan with 152 considered active.

Two-hundred-and-eighteen of the cases are in the far north region, 164 in the Saskatoon-area and 76 in Regina-area.
