A hockey player from northern Saskatchewan has signed with a midget AAA team for the upcoming season.

Jacob Cossette, a 2004-born forward from Air Ronge, is slated to suit up for the Tisdale Trojans during the 2020-21 campaign.

“I’ve played hockey around that area for a long time, so it kind of feels like a second home,” said Cossette. “I would like to thank Tisdale for the opportunity.”

Cossette recorded 41 points in 33 games this past season with the Beardy’s Blackhawks midget AA team.

He says there will be one noticeable difference to the game as he moves to the AAA ranks.

“For sure the speed, it will be a lot faster,” said Cossette.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the 15-year-old tallied 38 points in 30 games with the North East Wolfpack bantam AA club.
