RCMP say two people were killed in a vehicle collision near the Muskoday First Nation on Friday afternoon.

The accident happened around 12:45 p.m. on Highway 3 and the road was blocked off for part of the day.

Both occupants of one of the vehicles, a 22-year-old female driver and 17-year-old male, were pronounced dead on the scene.

The three occupants of the other vehicle – 36-year-old male driver from Naicam, 31-year-old female passenger from Christopher Lake and 8-year-old male child from Christopher Lake – were taken to hospital with injuries.

Parkland Ambulance says all three remain in hospital as of Monday morning.

The male driver is in serious condition and the other two passengers in good and stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
