Correctional Service Canada says it is investigating the death of a man at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary on Monday.
Twenty-seven-year-old Curtis McKenzie was serving a two-year sentence for breach of recognizance and break and enter.
He was a few months shy of his release date on May 30.
A CSC press release says next of kin, police and coroner have been notified.
