Saskatchewan’s lone active gold mine produced a record amount of the metal in 2019 according to a provincial news release.

The Seabee gold operation increased its production by 17 per cent when compared to 2018 for a total of a little over 112,000 ounces.

This is the fourth consecutive year the operation has set a new record for gold production in the province.

The mining operation is located about 125 kilometres northeast of La Ronge.

Production occurs at the Santoy underground mine while ore processing takes place at the nearby Seabee mill facility.

The operation is owned by SSR Mining Inc.
