The Cowessess First Nation has banned two members from its community for one year for crystal meth cases.

“Both sellers and users must be held accountable for the far-reaching ramifications of their actions. Selling illegal drugs and prescription pills affects everyone,” Chief Cadmus Delrome said in a statement.

“Chief and Council will do what is necessary for the best interest of the First Nation. To the ones who are doing our community harm, consider this as a warning.”

The First Nation said that if it had enough evidence, it could evict sellers, traffickers and supply chain promoters for up to one year.

The First Nation said currently seven homes and two people are being assessed.
