Prince Albert RCMP say a 19-year-old man has been charged with murder after another man died of injuries sustained in an assault on the Wahpeton Dakota Nation in the early morning hours of Boxing Day.
Police say Zellall Highway was assaulted in a local residence and later pronounced deceased by EMS officials.
A 17-year-old female was also injured in the assault and taken to hospital in Prince Albert for treatment.
Nineteen-year-old Nathan Waditaka has been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault and sexual assault.
He is due in court on Monday.
An autopsy on the victim is also scheduled on the same day in Saskatoon.
