A 52-year-old man has died as the result of a hit and run accident near Canoe Narrows on the weekend.
Police say the accident happened early Sunday morning on Highway 965 with a male pedestrian pronounced deceased at the scene.
Twenty-eight-year-old Alec Bouvier of Cole Bay is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm and operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.
Bouvier appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court Monday morning.
