Hockey season is just around the corner and the La Ronge Ice Wolves need billet families for the upcoming campaign.

“I’m thinking I need about 10 more beds,” said Rita Goertzen, the billet coordinator for the Ice Wolves. “I’m still working on a couple people and I might have them. For (training) camp, I usually need extras.”

Goertzen says there are incentives for being a billet.

“The Ice Wolves’ board and organization gives each family $300 every month towards helping provide meals for the players. Does it cover it? Not really, just depending on the kids. Every player is different,” said Goertzen. “Plus, they also get two season tickets. If it’s a family, then we do a family pack.”

If you are interested in becoming a billet or you need more information, you can contact Rita at (306) 425-7796.

Meantime, the Ice Wolves are scheduled to open the regular season Sept. 13 in Flin Flon against the Bombers.
