A 30-year-old man has been charged with several offenses after a stabbing on the Clearwater River Dene Nation last weekend.
La Loche RCMP say a man, armed with a machete, broke into a local residence and assaulted another male while he was sleeping.
The victim sustained extensive injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
Daniel Norman Lemaigre is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, break and enter and resisting arrest.
He is due in La Loche Provincial Court via video Thursday.
