The La Ronge Ice Wolves were thrilled at the end of May with their selections at the SJHL Bantam Draft.

One of the players they picked was defenceman Linden Gamble from Prince Albert.

Gamble was taken 49th overall in the fifth round. He tallied 12 points in 31 games with the Prince Albert Pirates Bantam AA team this past season.

“I felt my season, at the beginning of the year, was kind of off, but towards the end, I started picking up my game and started to get better,” said Gamble.

Gamble says he feels he takes a defence-first approach on the ice.

“I’m more of a defensive defenceman, but I can rush the puck and do whatever at the right time and make smart plays,” said Gamble.

Gamble says he intends to suit up for the Beardy’s Blackhawks of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League this upcoming season.

Gamble was one of five players drafted by La Ronge at the draft in Nipawin.
