The La Ronge Ice Wolves have added a big, bruising forward to the mix for the upcoming season.

The Ice Wolves have agreed to terms with 2000-born forward Spencer Kennedy. Kennedy is from Lethbridge, AB and spent last season with the Kimberley Dynamiters of the KIJHL.

Ice Wolves Head Coach and GM Kevin Kaminski says Head Scout Rob Fiola believes Kennedy brings a lot of intangibles to the table.

“Great work ethic, he’s a warrior, he’s physical, won’t back down from anyone,” said Ice Wolves Head Coach and GM Kevin Kaminski. “He has some great skill as well – scoring goals, can make plays, he’s good out of the corners.”

Kennedy will certainly add some size to the forward core. He’s listed at 6’4” tall and 214 lbs. Kaminski admits, he’s expecting Kennedy to be a power forward.

“Especially in our barn, which is small,” said Ice Wolves Head Coach and GM Kevin Kaminski. “We expect him to be that guy who gets on the forecheck first and finishes his checks – and creates turnovers and let him go to work down low.”

Kennedy tallied 47 points in 37 games this past season with Kimberley and also had 128 penalty minutes.
