UPDATE: May 05, 2019 5:48 PM
Ernest Severight’s family says his body was found Sunday morning, 12 days after the father of four fell into the Assiniboine River near Kamsack.
A number of boaters who had made a raft of three canoes found the body around 10 a.m., said Vern Severight, Ernest’s uncle.
The search will continue this week for the body of a 30-year-old man who is believed to have drowned near a dam in the Assiniboine River in Kamsack.
Ernest Severight, from Cote First Nation, went into the river at the Riverside Golf Club last Tuesday afternoon.
Police say strong currents around the dam and poor visibility underwater are hampering the effort.
Searchers have been using sonar, visual and underwater searches.
A search and rescue plane is being used over the next few days for a wider search area.
