A 29-year-old Sandy Bay man has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to the death of a toddler in Prince Albert last week.
Police and Parkland Ambulance were called to a downtown apartment building around noon last Wednesday after receiving a report of an unconscious 21-month-old child.
The child was transported to Victoria Hospital and later died.
After an autopsy was performed on Thursday, the investigation was upgraded to homicide.
Police say Kelvin McCallum is due to make his first court appearance Tuesday morning.
