Two Canoe Narrows men were fined in for illegally selling fish.

63-year-old Richard Desjardin, pleaded guilty to three counts of marketing fish without a licence, commercial fishing without a licence, fishing in a closed area and obstruction.  He was fined $14,500.

60-year old Donald Iron was found guilty on three counts of illegally selling fish and three counts of selling fish without a licence.  He was fined a total of $1,080.

The Ministry of Environment began their investigation in May 2016, following tips from Beauval that fish was being sold illegally.

Undercover officers claim to have bought more than 200 fish from both men.

Due to walleye population concerns, Canoe Lake is closed to Walleye fishing.
