Jennifer Campeau is the winner of this year’s Canadian Challenge Sled Dog Race.

Campeau’s 12-dog team crossed the La Ronge finish line about 7:30 a.m. Friday morning.

She was followed by Lisa Joinson who crossed the line a little after 9 a.m.

Campeau is from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta and Joinson from Tagish, Yukon.

Last year’s winner Gerry Walker of Pierceland, Saskatchewan finished third crossing the line just before 2:15 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Dee Eaves of Hillmond, Saskatchewan was only a few minutes behind Walker.

The roughly 300 mile 12-dog portion of the race started about an hour north of Prince Albert on Tuesday.

It serves as a qualifier for the Yukon Quest and Iditarod.
