A 21-year-old man from Deschambault Lake is facing several charges including attempted murder after two men were stabbed this weekend.

RCMP were called to the scene of the assaults at a local residence on Saturday.

One man had been allegedly stabbed several times in the face, neck, arm, back and chest while the other was stabbed in the shoulder while trying to stop the assault.

Both men were taken to hospital, treated for injuries and since released.

Twenty-one-year-old Winston Michel has been charged with attempted murder without a firearm, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence and resisting or obstructing a police officer.

He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Friday morning.
