A framework agreement was formally announced this weekend to enhance early learning and child care opportunities for Métis children living in Canada.

The announcement was made at the Manitoba Métis Federation Annual General Assembly in Winnipeg on Saturday.

The Métis Nation Early Learning and Childcare Framework is part of the $1.7 billion over ten years of federal funding committed to Indigenous services in these areas.

The framework aims to build on early learning and child care services for Métis children that are culturally relevant and self-empowering.

Framework partners include the Liberal government and Métis National Council.
