The La Ronge Ice Wolves were busy over the weekend, making several trades.

On Saturday, the Ice Wolves traded 19-year-old forward Kenzie Arnold and forward prospect Luc Marleau to the Melfort Mustangs in exchange for 19-year-old forward Jacob Tibbatts, forward prospect Holden Knights and a third-round draft pick in 2020.

Arnold never played a game with the Ice Wolves. He spent the last two seasons with the Nipawn Hawks.

Tibbatts was then flipped to the Winkler Flyers on Sunday in exchange for 20-year-old defenceman Matt Krawiec and a player development fee. Krawiec is from Red Deer, Alberta. He spent the 2016-17 season with the Kindersley Klippers. Krawiec had six points in 48 games with the Winkler Flyers last season.

The Ice Wolves also acquired 19-year-old forward Shane Hounsell from the Humboldt Broncos in exchange for a player development fee. The Meadow Lake product was taken by the Broncos in the SJHL Dispersal Draft. Hounsell spent last season with the La Ronge Ice Wolves and tallied 18 points in 52 games.

La Ronge is back in action Sunday night in Warman when they meet the Battlefords North Stars. Sunday’s game is slated to get underway at 7 p.m., but MBC will not have a radio broadcast due to the Sunday bingo.
