The La Ronge Ice Wolves closed out their pre-season schedule on Monday at home when they blanked the MJHL’s OCN Blizzard 4-0.

“Quite a few things went right for us I think tonight, but some things didn’t go so right either,” said Ice Wolves Assistant Coach Gaelan Patterson. “I think we got a little bit complacent there after we got up, so — some things we gotta address and a lot of work ahead of us this week into the home opener.”

Antonio Di Paolo, Nolan Dawson, Nico Hemming and Justin Bill found the back of the net for the Ice Wolves Monday. Chad Duran and Jordan Frey combined for a 25-save shutout.

“I felt confident, I mean — came into the game really looking for a bounce back game and looking to build some momentum heading into the season,” said Ice Wolves goalie Jordan Frey.

La Ronge finished the pre-season with a 2-3 record.

Now that the pre-season is over, the Ice Wolves will now shift their attention to the regular season. They kick off the campaign Friday at home when the Flin Flon Bombers come to town for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.

La Ronge will then travel to Flin Flon Saturday for the conclusion of the home-and-home series. You can catch Saturday’s game on MBC with Braden Malsbury, the pre-game show begins at 6:15 p.m. Saskatchewan time.
