The Battlefords Indian and Métis Friendship Centre, in partnership with the federal and provincial governments, will start construction of an eight-room co-housing project for hard-to-house individuals in North Battleford.

“The supported rooming house model will provide long-term housing for eight hard-to-house individuals, with supervision and supports to help break the cycle of homelessness,” said Jackie Kennedy, the executive director of the Battlefords Indian and Métis Friendship Centre in a statement.

The $830,000 project located on 98th Street is intended to provide safe housing, supervision and supports to help break the cycle of homelessness.
