A youth wanted for second-degree murder and assault in Ontario has been arrested in Pinehouse.

Peel Regional Police Service had sent out a release that they believed the suspect was headed for Saskatchewan.

Youth suspects are usually not identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, but Peel police investigators obtained special judicial exemption to release his name and description due to the potential public safety threat.

A person matching his description was seen today by Pinehouse RCMP members and ran into the bush.

There was a significant police presence in the Pinehouse Lake area.

Early Wednesday evening, RCMP announced that the 17-year-old had been arrested without incident.
