The Toronto Blue Jays Care Foundation is coming to northern Saskatchewan next week.

The foundation is making stops in La Ronge, Sucker River, Grandmother’s Bay, Stanley Mission and Little Red.

Kevin Roberts is with the JRMCC, he says there will be lots for people to take in.

“There will be a fun game going on,” said Roberts. “From 12-1 p.m., each community will host a barbeque. Then from 1-3 p.m., there will be the baseball skills session part of it.”

Roberts says the Jays Care Foundation reached out to the Lac La Ronge Indian Band about coming to northern Saskatchewan.

“Essentially, the Jays Care Foundation really is just trying to promote the game of baseball to socioeconomic communities, where financial situations might be issues,” said Roberts.

Things kick off on Monday in La Ronge, with the tour finishing Friday on the Little Red River Cree Nation.
