Five people face a number of charges after two separate incidents involving bear mace on Sunday and Wednesday.

RCMP were called to a park on La Ronge Avenue around 3:45 p.m. Canada Day after a report of a male youth being sprayed with bear mace.

No injuries were reported and three youths have been charged in connection to the incident.

One of the youths has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and escaping custody.

The two other youths were charged with resisting a peace officer.

The three are due to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on July 30.

In a separate incident on July 4, police were called to an apartment in the 500 block of Studer Street around 3 p.m. after two men and a woman forced their way into the residence and released bear mace into the air.

A female resident received minor burn injuries as a result of the incident.

Twenty-one-year-old Preston Gordon Ratt and 23-year-old Tyrone Troy Halkett face a number of charges including breaking and entering, administering a noxious substance, assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm and mischief under $5,000.

The two were scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court Thursday.
