Coreen Sayazie will once again serve as the chief of the Black Lake Denesuline Nation.

According to a spokesperson at the Black Lake band office, Sayazie, who is the first female chief of the First Nation, was re-elected to a second two-year term yesterday.

John Toutsaint, Darlene Fern and Delbert Bouvier were also re-elected to council.

Newly elected to council are Donald Sayazie, Ambrose Sandypoint, Magloire Broussie and Ambrose Boneleye.

The next election will be held in June 2020.
