RCMP are confirming the identity of a man whose body was found in a burnt vehicle on the Ahtahkakoop First Nation.
Following an autopsy yesterday, police are confirming the deceased to be 20-year-old Brennan Ahenakew of Ahtahkakoop.
Ahenakew’s body was found in the burnt vehicle on the reserve this past Friday.
An RCMP release says police first spotted a burning vehicle on the reserve on Thursday morning.
However, the vehicle was not searched at this time.
RCMP say the results of the autopsy will not be released at this time.
In the meantime, police say the investigation into Ahenakew’s death is ongoing and investigators are trying to determine his activities and who had contact with him the morning he died.
