Keewatin Community Development Association and Northlands College are sponsoring the second annual Core Days.

The two-day event begins later today at the Northlands College River Campus in Air Ronge.

The CEO of KCDA, Randy Johns, says students, members of the public and industry professionals will all find something of interest during the information sessions.

“To recognize and show a bit about the mineral sector in northern Saskatchewan, mostly it’s about the exploration part, which is actually quite exciting and there’s quite a lot going on in exploration in the north.”

Events include a tour of the mine school and tech centre, a fossil field trip, a trade show and rock sample displays.

Johns says for geologists and other professionals in the minerals industry, it will be a chance to find out what others are doing.

Registration for the event begins at 1 p.m. today at the Northlands College River Campus in Air Ronge.

The agenda is located online.
