An investigation is underway after a person died in custody this week at the Meadow Lake RCMP detachment.
On Tuesday morning shortly before 6 a.m., an adult male was found unresponsive in the cell area.
Police say EMS was called and the 25-year-old man from Meadow Lake was pronounced dead at the scene.
Moose Jaw police have been asked to conduct the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
As well, the Ministry of Justice has been asked to appoint an independent observer.
No other details on the death have been released.
