A 25-year-old man has been arrested and is facing several charges after the serious stabbing of a teenager on the Yellow Quill First Nation last month.

The 16-year-old victim was transported to hospital in Kelvington after the March 25 stabbing, then on to Saskatoon with what were described as severe injuries.

RCMP say the suspect was arrested at a Yellow Quill residence without incident on Saturday.

Corey Mark Peequaquat is facing charges that include aggravated assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats.

He remains in custody and is due to make a court appearance Wednesday in Rose Valley.
