A firearms complaint from northern Alberta lead to the arrest of three men in La Loche Tuesday afternoon.

RCMP say they received word from Alberta RCMP that a vehicle allegedly involved in a “serious” firearms incident was headed to La Loche.

The alleged incident occurred in Janvier, Alberta, just south of Fort McMurray.

La Loche RCMP say they successfully located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop them.

However, Mounties say the vehicle failed to stop, so officers deployed a tire deflation device and the three men were taken into custody.

27-year old Danny William Larocque and 37 year old Wesley Cardinal, both from Janvier, were arrested on outstanding warrants and now face new charges of resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer. Both men have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in La Loche Provincial Court on Thursday.

A third man, said to be from La Loche, was also arrested on outstanding warrants. However, he was released from custody and is scheduled for a court appearance on April 9th to face a charge of resisting arrest.

RCMP say the man from La Loche will not be identified by as his matter is not yet before the courts.

No word on any charges from the alleged incident in Alberta.
