RCMP say the remains of a person found in a burned-out home on the Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation are those of a 32-year-old woman who had been unaccounted for.

The blaze was reported around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, and several people managed to escape from the building.

They reported to police that one person remained unaccounted for.

Yesterday, investigators reported that remains had been found and an autopsy was ordered.

Today, the RCMP confirmed the identity of the victim. Her name has not been released and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
