Red Earth First Nation resident, Edwin Whitehead, won $200,000 after purchasing a scratch-off ticket in Nipawin.

The seven-dollar ticket was purchased at Par-A-Mar Foods in Nipawin and contained the top prize of the LUCKY LINES EXTRAVAGANZA game.

Whitehead says he was shocked to see that he’d won the grand prize after uncovering five symbols in a diagonal line on the card.

“I must have checked it 10 more times,” said Whitehead. “I was so excited.”

Although he played the game before going to bed, Whitehead waited until the next morning to return to the store and have the ticket checked.

Whitehead says he is taking some time to think before making plans for his winnings.
