RCMP have laid several charges, including attempted murder against a 23-year-old man after a shooting in Dillon last week.

The northern community of about 800 people was put in lockdown by community officials this past Friday after a shooting on Thursday night.

The alleged shooter was at large all Friday before being taken into custody without incident Friday evening.

Those charges include attempted murder, assault with a weapon and several other firearm-related offences.

Montgrand remains in police custody and is set to appear in La Loche Provincial Court via CCTV on Monday.

There’s been no update on the state of the victim.
