Over 100 SaskTel business customers in Saskatoon and the province’s north were left offline this morning.

Reports of lost services started rolling in to the telecommunications provider around 3:00 a.m. this morning.

“We started receiving alarms about it around 3:00 to 4:00 a.m., so that’s when we anticipate most of our customers would have seen their impacts,” said Greg Jacobs, Sasktel’s external communications manager. “It (the outage) would have impacted around 200 business customers.”

The cause of the outage came from a fault in SaskTel equipment that controlled network traffic for northern Saskatchewan and Saskatoon businesses.

The equipment was repaired and network services were restored to customers around 1:00 p.m.
