A man and a woman from Meadow Lake are facing numerous charges for the alleged abuse of children.
Meadow Lake RCMP say they were notified by Social Services about an incident of alleged neglect involving five children in July 2016.
Police say following an extensive and lengthy investigation a 30-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were arrested earlier this month.
Neither of them will be identified to protect the identity of the children.
The two face several charges including aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement and failure to provide the necessities of life.
They were arrested in Saskatoon on December 6 and made their first court appearance the next day in Meadow Lake.
The man and woman remain in custody heading into their next court appearance on Monday at Meadow Lake Provincial Court.
