An inmate with a violent history has escaped custody from the Saskatoon Correctional Centre.

Authorities say Frederick Frank Frenchman escaped custody on Tuesday afternoon while attending a funeral at Little Red River Reserve, which is located north of Prince Albert.

The 24-year-old was recently convicted of aggravated assault and forcible confinement. He was serving a nearly three-year prison sentence for the crimes.

Frenchman is described as 5’11” tall, 163 pounds, with brown hair and black eyes. He has a tattoo of a rosary on his left wrist and the initials “F.F.” on his left hand.

Anyone with information on Frederick Frank Frenchman’s whereabouts is asked to notify authorities.

Frenchman is considered dangerous and he should not be approached.
