*UPDATE – The Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory was lifted on Friday (October 13) after samples on the water following the repair work came back clean.

Portions of the northern town are being cautioned on their use of water.

Sections of Studer Street and Riese Drive along with La Ronge Avenue from Backlund Street to Finlayson Street are experiencing hydrant repairs.

A water advisory is standard as water pressure is low while the hydrants are being worked on.

Residents of these areas are being asked to boil water before consuming or cleaning with the water, and to avoid the use of public drinking fountains.

The Water Security Agency notes the advisory will continue until further notice, but adds that repairs would need to be completed and tests on the water will be conducted before the advisory can be lifted.
