A judicial recount has confirmed that Lisa McCallum has been elected as secretary of the Metis Nation-Saskatchewan.
The recount was automatically initiated because the vote count for the top 2 candidates in May was within 2%.
The MN-S Election Act states that if there is a difference between votes of two per cent or less, an official recount will have to be done through Court of Queen’s Bench.
The unofficial results had Ashley Norton defeating Lisa McCallum in a close race for MN-S secretary.
But after the results became official, McCallum was declared the winner finishing eight votes ahead of Norton.
