RCMP have charged a 22-year-old man from Pelican Narrows with manslaughter after an incident in the northern community last Saturday afternoon.

Mounties say they responded to a call outside a Pelican Narrows business where they found a 25-year-old man in medical distress.

The man was airlifted to hospital in Saskatoon where he eventually succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The deceased is from Pelican Narrows. The family has asked for privacy and requested the RCMP not release his name.

Brennan Lee Cook of Southend was arrested without incident on July 31 and is facing manslaughter charges connected to the incident.

He will make his first court appearance in Prince Albert on Thursday morning.

RCMP say the two men were known to each other.
