Over 560 athletes, coaches and mission staff will leave for Toronto Friday for the 2017 North American Indigenous Games.

Mosaic Potash will be sending Team Saskatchewan off in style with a pep rally at Whitecap Dakota First Nation.

The opening ceremonies take place Sunday, with competition beginning Monday in all 14 medal sports.

Team Saskatchewan has been the overall games winner in six of the eight games that have been held since the first event in Edmonton back in 1990.

Saskatchewan has hosted the games twice. Prince Albert was the site of the 1993 Games, while Regina hosted in 2014.

This year’s event will see more than 5,000 participants take part at world-class venues located across the Greater Toronto Area.
