There has been a slight drop in Saskatchewan’s employment numbers.

There are 1,900 fewer people employed in the province last month compared to May. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 6.5 per cent, an increase of two tenths of a percent.

The Aboriginal unemployment was more than double that at 14.1 per cent, but that is an improvement over May when it was 15.2 per cent. The Metis unemployment rate was 9.6 per cent in June, down nearly 2 per cent from May.

The First Nations off-reserve unemployment rate was 19.8 per cent, down a tenth of a point from May.

Nationally, the unemployment rate dropped from 6.6 per cent to 6 per cent.
