The owner of Prince Albert Northern Bus Lines says he hasn’t decided if the company will make an application for passenger service for Prince Albert and area.

Stacey Petreman says he may review the regulatory guidelines for providing passenger service, but won’t know for sure for at least a couple of weeks if the company will make an application to the Highway Traffic Board.

He says that he is surprised that no other Prince Albert and area companies have put forward requests to provide service from Saskatoon to Prince Albert and Prince Albert to La Ronge. He says those could be lucrative routes to pick up.

Prince Albert Northern Bus Lines provides charter and tour bus service for schools, conventions and sports teams.

The Highway Traffic Board approved three more applications to provide passenger service yesterday. So far, six companies have been green lighted to take over routes in southern Saskatchewan after the government shut down the Saskatchewan Transportation Company at the end of May.

Two other applications have had hearings and are currently awaiting a decision, while three more applications are being reviewed.
