The search for a missing woman in Prince Albert has expanded, and now includes another woman who disappeared this spring.
On April 1, 42-year-old Happy Mary Charles was last seen in Prince Albert, and her family has had no contact with her since then.
An initial search of a number of areas in and around the city was conducted on April 28.
Another search was done one week later.
Search organizer David Crane says he was also contacted on the weekend by the family of another 25-year-old woman who is missing.
“The second person, whose name is Joanne Rayne Laurin, went missing after 3:00 am about April 21 in the west end area, and that is the last point that she was seen,” said Crane.
Crane says it’s hoped setting up a search base camp in downtown Prince Albert will encourage more volunteers to help out.
He says they will be setting up at that location Tuesday morning.
“We’ll be at the Wesley United Church, and it’s the west parking lot entrance, downtown Prince Albert, and we would like to get started about 10:00 am,” he said.
Crane says volunteers will be shown maps of areas, which have already been searched, and other areas which they would like to cover.
He says the Prince Albert Police Service has been assisting in the effort, and any information on the missing women will be passed along to investigators.
