The chief and band council of the George Gordon First Nation, which is located about 125 kilometres northeast of Regina, are reviewing a court decision that overturns last spring’s election results.

In a notice posted on its website, the chief and band council says it will be in a position to provide an update to the community within 30 days.

Last Friday, a Regina Queen’s Bench justice overturned the election results because of 31 missing ballots that could have changed the outcome of the vote.

The action was launched by band member Solomon Cyr, who was supported by more than 20 people that filed affidavits alleging voting irregularities during the March 31 election.
