The provincial government is making good progress in its efforts to appoint more Aboriginal people, visible minorities and women to the boards running the crown corporations.

The latest figures show Aboriginal representation is now ten per cent, up from five per cent. Visible minorities represent nine per cent of board directors, while women make up 53 per cent, up from 44 per cent earlier this year.

CIC minister Joe Hargrave says the diversity better represents the province. He says the new members bring insight and expertise that will not only benefit the crowns, but the province as a whole.
