The search continues for a missing mushroom picker in northern Saskatchewan.

In July, 78 year-old Tony Olekas was reported missing while mushroom picking about 14 kilometres west of Hanson Lake Road near Big Sandy Lake.

Since then RCMP say they have completed detailed searches for Mr. Olekas by helicopter, plane, Police dog unit and ground search other and rescue teams.

So far, he has not been found and no further information has been received.

Olekas is described as being 5’11” tall with a medium build and short cut grey hair. He was last seen wearing dark-coloured work clothes and was carrying a red basket for picking mushrooms.

Mounties are hoping to remind the public of his disappearance with more people expected in the area during the upcoming hunting season.

Anyone who sees anything that may help the RCMP in their search is asked to call the La Ronge detachment or Crime Stoppers.
