“You are why our program has been successful and we want everyone to know your stories.”

That was a line from a recent Facebook post by the Northern Teacher’s Education Program, which is reaching out to former students for success stories.

Recently the provincial government informed NORTEP that funding to the program was being “redirected.”

NORTEP and government officials have been meeting to discuss the changes, but there is no word yet on how the change in funding will actually affect the program.

Yesterday, NORTEP made a post to its Facebook page calling for former students to share their stories.

They say they want to use these stories to show the government and the public how vital NORTEP is to the north and why it should remain as is.

Here is the Facebook post:

**ATTENTION NORTEP/NORPAC ALUMNI**
We would like to ask you all to send us your success stories. We want to know how Nortep/Norpac has helped you and what your time with us has meant to you. We want to know where you are now and what you are doing. We would like to use your stories to show the government and the public how vital Nortep/Notpac is to the North and why we need to remain as we are. You are why our program has been successful and we want everyone to know your stories. You can email it to student.services@nortep.ca

NORTEP has yet to be reached for comment.
