The RCMP arrested two of its own officers in Saskatchewan on separate assault charges this week.

The first arrest took place on Monday, related to an assault on two youths by an on-duty officer February 24 incident around 2 a.m.

Warman Corporal Dean Flaman is suspended with pay related to the arrest of those two boys.

The RCMP says the boys were arrested after they were seen running away from an area where a suspicious male had been going through vehicle.

Now, Flaman is charged with assault for two separate altercations with those boys, which took place after soon after they were taken into custody.

Flaman has been released and will be in Saskatoon court on September 14. He is currently under a Code of Conduct investigation by the RCMP.

The second Mountie to be cuffed is Cst. Khen Wilkins, who was arrested on Tuesday.

Wilkins is a Meadow Lake officer who was off duty at the time of an altercation at a party in the community on Dec. 14, 2015. Mounties on duty that night were called to the home for noise complaints, and after they arrived they were alerted to an earlier alleged assault by Wilkins.

Wilkins is now out of custody and his charge of assault will go through Meadow Lake court in late September.

The Code of Conduct investigation by RCMP is complete and he’s back on regular duty. Before that, he was on administrative duty.
