A Red Pheasant family is making funeral preparations after a shooting related to a confrontation in a rural area between North Battleford and Biggar on Tuesday.
Colton Boushie, 20, has been identified as the victim.
RCMP say around supper time on Tuesday, Boushie in a vehicle with four other people, in the yard of a family they didn’t know.
While words were exchanged, a gun was pulled out and fired into the vehicle.
Condolensces are pouring in for Boushie on Facebook, with his family and friends calling him hardworking and kindhearted.
The man accused of second-degree murder in this case is 54-year-old Gerald Stanley. He was in North Battleford court for his first appearance on Thursday.
